Interpretation

In a stunning surprise, the Vampire returned ONCE AGAIN as the MIDDLE card. At this point, the fact that she remains the most frequently drawn card in the deck feels ridiculously significant to me. She’s also taken center stage multiple times. I have viewed the Vampire as the spirit of the deck since the very beginning, and she continues to appear as though she is reminding me that we are connected.

It is difficult for me to dismiss her repeated appearances as coincidence. She keeps returning to the central position, placing herself directly at the heart of the reading. Whatever else these cards may be saying, the first message seems to be that the connection itself remains active.

My attention was then immediately drawn to the cards framing her: the Cauldron in the past position and the Lantern in the future position. Both cards have a similar greenish-blue tint, creating a visual connection between them on either side of the Vampire. The color appears nearly identical in both cards, and that feels important.

Neither the Cauldron nor the Lantern has appeared in a reading before. Their arrival suggests that something new is entering the story—perhaps a new person, a new influence, or a new part of this connection that I am supposed to notice.

The Cauldron is traditionally associated with witchcraft, spells, ritual, transformation, and the mixing together of different elements. Because it appears in the past position, it may point toward knowledge, practices, or influences connected to witchcraft that already exist somewhere in the background.

The Lantern in the future position suggests illumination. It represents shedding light on something hidden, finding guidance in darkness, or being shown a path that was previously difficult to see.

With the feminine Vampire positioned between these two images, the immediate impression I received was that I may be meant to seek out a woman who has experience with witchcraft, ritual, spells, or similar spiritual practices—someone who may be able to help shed light on what I have been experiencing with the deck.

I do not personally know anyone involved in witchcraft. However, a growing number of people are reading these entries, and it seems likely that someone in that audience may have knowledge or experience in this area. Perhaps that person is already reading now, or perhaps they will discover these entries sometime in the future.

The reading gave me the feeling that I should remain open to working with someone who understands these traditions and may be able to offer another perspective.

I also want to be clear that I do not automatically view witchcraft as evil. In this context, I am using the term broadly to describe someone who works with spells, ritual, symbolism, intention, or spiritual practices. That could include someone involved in Wicca, which is a modern spiritual tradition often associated with nature, ritual, and forms of magic intended to be constructive rather than harmful. If Wicca is specifically the thing I was supposed to think of, the greenish tint of both cards in the past and future position would make sense as wicca is often associated with nature (green glades, blue skies – ala blue green tint).

For now, the message seems to be one of openness. The Vampire returns to affirm the connection. The Cauldron points toward ritual or hidden knowledge. The Lantern suggests that this knowledge may eventually illuminate something I do not yet understand.
