July 9, 2026 — What Do I Do About This Woman?

Question:
What do I do about this woman that I’ve been reading the cards for?

Three-Card Spread:

  • Past Position: Gargoyle
  • Current / Middle Position: Banshee
  • Future Position: Fear of Failure

My Interpretation:
Today’s reading felt heavy and ethically complicated. The Banshee appeared in the middle position, surrounded by the Gargoyle in the past position and Fear of Failure in the future position. I am not reading these cards strictly by the book meanings, but by intuition, imagery, and the first impression that comes to mind.

What I immediately saw was a tormented woman in the center of the reading. The Banshee feels like a figure of grief, anguish, warning, and emotional distress. Around her, the Gargoyle seems to represent the demons of her past — something dark, protective, monstrous, or haunting that still clings to her. The future card, Fear of Failure, made the reading feel even more troubling. It gave the impression of someone standing emotionally on the edge of a cliff, overwhelmed by despair, self-destructive thoughts, or possibly even suicidal ideation.

That interpretation is difficult to sit with. The reading seems to continue the same pattern that has been appearing over the last several days: a person who feels dead inside, tormented, haunted by the past, and surrounded by dark forces or painful memories. The intuition feels strong, but the question I have to wrestle with now is whether continuing to read about this person is actually helpful.

At this point, I do not know whether I would even want this person reading these interpretations. Without direct input from her, I cannot know whether I am close to the truth or completely off the mark. Worse, I cannot know whether my readings would help her feel seen or instead make her feel exposed, judged, frightened, or worse. That creates an ethical problem.

So the deeper reflection today is not just about what the cards say. It is about what I am supposed to do with the information I feel I am receiving. What is the purpose of continuing this line of inquiry? How does it help her? How does it help me? When does a reading become insight, and when does it become intrusion? When do I stop because I have taken the inquiry as far as it can responsibly go?

The answer may be that there is very little I can directly do. I can be kind. I can avoid making public assumptions about someone’s inner life. I can hold compassion for the possibility that someone may be suffering without turning that suffering into content or certainty. I can recognize that intuition may point me toward concern, but concern does not give me control over another person’s life, choices, or healing.

Today’s reading leaves me with more questions than answers. The strongest message may not be about her at all, but about my responsibility. If the cards keep pointing toward darkness, pain, and possible self-destruction, then I need to be careful. Maybe the purpose of this reading is not to keep digging deeper into her, but to recognize the limits of what I can know and what I can ethically do.

For now, the question becomes whether this line of readings has reached its natural stopping point. I may need to shift away from trying to read her directly and instead ask broader questions: how can I act with compassion, what boundaries should I maintain, and what is mine to carry versus what belongs to someone else.

The reading feels like a warning — not necessarily a prediction, but a caution. There may be pain here, but I cannot make myself responsible for solving it. I can care. I can be thoughtful. I can be humane. But I cannot control the outcome, and I cannot turn intuition into certainty.

  1. Sometimes, I wonder if I want the information I’m given, especially when it’s about someone else. It’s like when my best friend is excited about a new girl, but I’ve been told it’s not gonna work out and I know he’s gonna be hurt. Do I tell him? Do I stay silent and try to muster enthusiasm? So I get where you are coming from and it can feel very burdensome, but I remind myself that setbacks are often growth opportunities and some lessons have to be learned the hard way through experience. I would encourage you to move on to a different topic with the cards, if they will let you, for your own sanity.

  2. Yeah, this is a bit of a conundrum for sure. I agree with JC on moving on, but maybe one more question…why are you giving me this information when I can’t help this person? And then close with stating you will be moving forward. I’ll pray for her for you! Lol.

    1. Because sometimes cards just be like that. Lol. Sometimes I think it’s an issue of be careful what you wish for.

  3. I have been pondering this today. I really like this. Have you given any thought to a curse? “Sabotaging Relationships ” came up. I know nothing about curses, but there it was. Take care of yourself, you sounded a bit run down tonight. Maybe take a long slow walk and look at the lake, and just be with you. You know we all care about you.

    1. I was actually thinking about this the other day like the constant battle between light and darkness. I believe there are healers that can help this

  4. I doubt this person would want to burden you with any heaviness or responsibility on your soul. I also doubt this person is seeking a saviour.
Perhaps the best thing you can do for this person is not mistake the darkness they carry as for the darkness of their character or reflection of their heart.

  5. Are the interpretations always about the current moment or is it telling you a story and at some point “ someone standing emotionally on the edge of a cliff, overwhelmed by despair, self-destructive thoughts, or possibly even suicidal ideation.” was a part of her journey. I believe this person would want you to not ever have to use uncomfortable energy on her, she is no threat. She may care more about protecting others now that she has learnt to contain the torment. Protect your peace please and just have faith in what you do naturally maybe you are not aware of the impact you have by the things your not giving much thought to. 🙌🏻

  6. Maybe keep the lol’s out of the comments , I get there is an element of craziness to it but laughing at someone’s torment and painful journey would really make the person feel more alone. Someone’s pain being used as entertainment is really cruel

  7. This is the Path of Shadows deck, so everything in it is dark. It is meant to look into the shadows of who we are. We all have light and darkness in us, everyone of us. In order to be better and do better, it is important to acknowledge what is in the shadows. That doesn’t make us a “dark character”, it means we want to bring light to that darkness and in order to do that we have to face uncomfortable things. Lee, keep doing what you are doing. You are doing a great job and putting yourself out here was more than most of us would do. I appreciate that you do this, your capacity for empathy, compassion and respect is something everyone should strive to achieve.
