Question

What is the value of continuing to read about her if I am not able to help her?

Three-Card Spread

  • Current Position: Potion
  • Past Position: Djinn
  • Future Position: Overthinking

My Analysis

My immediate impression was that this woman may currently be dealing with a complicated mixture of influences. The Potions card made me think of chemical imbalances, medication, drugs, alcohol, or some combination of substances and emotional factors affecting her present condition.

The Djinn in the past position again suggested that she is carrying unresolved forces from her past—old desires, decisions, wounds, or personal demons that continue to influence her.

The Overthinking card in the future position felt less like a description of her and more like guidance for me. I may be placing too much pressure on myself to determine how I am supposed to help her. The reading seems to suggest that I should not overanalyze my role or assume that every reading must lead to a solution.

The value may simply be in continuing to observe what the cards present without forcing an outcome. I do not need to make myself responsible for fixing her situation. For now, the message appears to be: keep reading, remain attentive, and do not overthink what I am supposed to do with the information.

  1. Loved that! Protect your peace first and foremost 🩷 you may have helped her in the way she needed and was ready to receive now and you don’t even realise. Blessings and strength to you 🩷

  2. It’s much easier to categorise something you don’t understand and decide it has to be something you can explain such as mood altering substances. That’s easier to wrap your head around whilst minimising the experience for the individual. The individual didn’t ask for your help so the responsibility you took on was your choice. Not everyone who is suffering is looking for someone to save them. It is not yours or anyone’s right to decide on what is contributing to a persons present condition. Please think carefully before you feel you can make an assumption as such.

    1. You are correct in that not everyone who is suffering is looking to be saved, however, that doesn’t mean that just because someone doesn’t want to be saved that we can’t still have empathy and compassion for them and that we don’t wish we could still save them. He has named no names, so I have to wonder why this has offended you so? This is a hard subject to talk about, but it’s an important subject whether it is about a real person or say a character in a novel. Heck, my antidepressants are in essence a “mood altering” substance, could I self medicate with alcohol and illegal drugs? Sure, but I’ve seen so many in my family self medicate that way and know it’s not the way to go, not everyone has that insight. Regardless, this is a tarot reading which requires intuition and Lee’s just going where that intuition leads him. It’s certainly not an exact science, but he has not named any names, nor would he. We have no idea who this person is, but I’m sending them love and positive energy anyway simply because I can and I hope that people would do the same for me.

      1. Thanks. I will be as careful as I can to not reveal any personal details and I hope whomever it’s about doesn’t out themselves if they wish to remain anonymous either.

        1. I know you would never purposely do so. Whether they decide, well, I guess that’s up to that person. Either way I will keep sending love and light and healing energy whether I know who they are or not.

      2. It bothered me because I dealt with addictions desperate to escape my pain and keep my vow to never ever in my life acknowledge my traumas existence. There are many consequences that come with the choices we make. Once you have taken that path it becomes your identity and any chance you had to heal will forever be overshadowed by this new identity, worthless, meaningless, a scummy Addict. And your back In the vicious vortex. Back to where it all began. So this woman’s present state being defined by a variety of intoxicants felt like her pain was being minimised and erased because of altered consciousness, impaired judgment. I feel it’s such a delicate topic to discuss a persons trauma, emotional distress etc in the same sentence with substance use. I may have come off harsh and I am sorry for that. It was quite triggering and saddened me, but I think it’s something to treat more thoughtfully. It has a disproportionate impact.

An assumption takes only a moment to form, but it can take a lifetime to undo. It instantly alters how others perceive a person, while leaving the one it’s about to carry the weight of a story they never wrote.

        1. I understand how it can look. I do my best to avoid every identifying someone by name or giving enough details that someone can figure it out. The worst part is when someone outs themselves by accident when I was being very careful. In any case, whenever I share my readings I have to ask if the reading is too personal to share.
